Operation Deep Freeze is the code name for a series of United States missions to Antarctica, beginning with "Operation Deep Freeze I" in 1955–56. These missions have played a crucial role in the development of the United States Antarctic Program and the establishment of permanent research stations on the continent, including the Amundsen-Scott South Pole Station.

Conspiracy Theories[edit | edit source]

Some associate Operation Deep Freeze with hidden agendas involving extraterrestrial activity in Antarctica, linking it to the New Swabia underground base and alleged Dark Fleet operations. These theories are part of a larger set of conspiracy theories involving the concealment of non-human intelligent beings by corporations and/or governments.
