These facilities conduct [[classification|classified]] activities but are publicly acknowledged. Their locations are known, marked on maps, and sometimes even partially accessible to the public. Examples include [[CIA]] headquarters at Langley and the [[National Security Agency|NSA]] complex at Fort Meade, where vast amounts of [[intelligence collection|compartmentalized HUMINT]] are processed. Despite their transparency in location, unauthorized disclosure of their activities can pose extreme risks.
