== History == During the Vietnam War, reports of UFO activity were often accompanied by rumors and speculation. Cooper, a naval officer stationed in the [[Demilitarized Zone (Vietnam)|DMZ]], recounted multiple incidents involving UFOs. According to his accounts, entire villages reportedly disappeared after UFOs were seen hovering above them, and both American and enemy forces allegedly fired on the UFOs, which retaliated with mysterious blue lights. Cooper also described rumors of UFOs abducting and mutilating two soldiers before their bodies were returned to the scene. These incidents highlight the overlap between UFO reports and the psychological and physical stresses of war. While Cooper’s claims are debated, they remain notable in the lore surrounding UFO sightings during the Vietnam War.
